After reviewing John Cage’s video on sound, it was almost as if  I literally realized a whole different world. I have never thought of sound as not having a meaning let alone think about sound, and it made me feel like everyone has taken it for granted, without even really realizing it. It actually reminded me of a video that I had watched in class earlier by Jaap Blonk. At first, I felt it was a little awkward, but it later made me really appreciate sound and all the different sounds around us; that it’s infinite. I also really liked how Cage personified sound as if having to pretend to be a sandbox or even the president, by personifying sound, Cage helped the audience to really think about sound and its existence on earth. I actually feel insired and I would like to pursue this by hopefully expoerimenting with sound more, and all of its variations, whether it be music, instruments, or even taking a moment to listen to the traffic.
